The opportunity to speak to Coldplay drummer Will Champion about Coldplay’s spectacular impact across music, sustainability and creativity was so exciting. It was an honour to moderate alongside Diane Nishigaya MacGillivray at Northeastern University London.
Coldplay are leading the way in sustainable touring with fans literally powering their shows with their energy. The optimism and collective impact when it comes to using creativity to drive change is ground breaking and sets the benchmark for the music industry. Coldplay are also using new technologies to transform how the audience connect with their music. From increasing accessibility so fans can feel sound with haptic vests, to using AI to create personalised and unique visuals based on fan’s feelings when listening to their music.
Using creativity to communicate sustainable impact and AI to increase our connection with sound are exactly what I am fascinated by with Rock Badger and I feel so inspired for our future projects.
