Communication Artwork

We worked with Northeastern University London to communicate their sustainability initiatives in a beautiful evolving artwork. The artwork visualises the University’s sustainability initiatives and data showing their live development, with the campus building reacting to their progress.

Our aim - to show and prove Northeastern's impact to the building community of students, faculty and visitors in the most engaging and immersive way.

The different visual elements of the artwork are determined by the building report on sustainability for Northeastern’s Devon House campus.

  • Building energy efficiency
  • Journey towards net zero
  • Waste management and recycling initiates
  • Bike parking spaces

“Working with Rock Badger was a pleasure from start to finish. Their creative team took our sustainability data - the kind of information that usually circulates as an unengaging slide deck—and turned it into something altogether different: a living, artistically compelling visualiser that updates in real time. Watch as the colours of our building shift, depending on the progress we have made on a particular commitment.
The result is more than a beautification of data; it has changed how our community engages with our institution’s ambitious environmental commitments.
Instead of glancing at (and past!) the numbers, we can now stop, watch, and talk about them; we can incorporate the visualiser into our website and screen rotations; and, in time, we can use it in the lecture room to help our students interpret and visualise data. We can’t recommend Rock Badger highly enough.”
